back to zim

my dads company mucked us up again but we got a new jod in zimbabwe so we headed down and stayed at a temporary farm. there were lots of horses there and i did lots of horses riding. there were lots of hills around were there were sable,kudu,leopard and even a few girraffes and lots of babboons. there were alot of places you could get lost but 5he horse alway new the way home and you heard baboons yelling you would turn and gallop away because you would not like to come face to face with an angery baboon, the longest tooth a baboon tooth is 5 inches and you wouldnt want that dug into you but i am of course as i always do going over the top i have never been bitten by a baboon and i have lived there for 4 or 5 years now and i am hoping to back there some times it depends what job i choose.

Then we got a nice big house right next to the damn which the dogs loved and we had a swimming pool which was always used when we were home from school . we alway took our 5 dogs round the damn for a walk and we went into the python caves and alsorts it was really cool untill i got bitten by a python. i was just joking i didnt get bitten. there were also bats in there and the dogs found it fun chasing then.

our dogs are crazy and once they were having a crazy momment and boris our massive puppy ran straight into a tap and didnt even realise until the water hit him he is a great fdog.

but then the warvets came and we had to leave in two days so we came back to england. i alway like flying but i would prefer to stay in zimbabwe at peterhouse girls and ride elephant when you get used to africa you will love it trust me i know.

Zambia

At first we were in a temperary house with only 2 bed rooms and remember i ve in family of 6 so there wee a few fights over who got the beds. but in the end i was the only one to have a proper bed and the others had matreses on the floor but we were always camping in zim so it idnt realy matter. Then after that we got a bigger house and we got two cross breed dogs. A Jackussel cross rigde back and it seems had a rat cross cat cross dog but he was the best and he was only loyal to me so it was quite fuy and cool. Then we got your big dogs out from ghana.the picture of the big dog is on our hill in ghana.
Then we moved again to an other house and went to a school called chengelo which was 4 and a half hours away and we would stay tere for 4 weeks at a time then go home for a wekkendit was quite cool because in our free time we coud do what ever we wanted to do so that was fun and i did horse riding which i really like doing.there is a picture of our horses in Zim.http://www.southtravels.com/africa/zambia. there are lots of shopping centers but the main ones were manda hill and arcades. it is a bit of a busy country and it has kariba damn which has more animals on the zim side unfortunatly. in chengelo they did some sports i came first in cross country and was best at all the other sports apart from netball which i have always hated.

Ghana

we moved to ghana after we were kicked out of zimbabwe and we had to sell a lot of things. but my dad was offered a job out in ghana so we went out there but unfortunatly we had to live on a estate which he dogs didnt like. Then we got ourselves a plot of land which was a massive hill which had lovely veiws and we had biult a drive way up there and a wicked swing this is a picture of them:
but then we were forced to l;eave because yhe company stabed us in the back.
So we went back to England for 6 months and stayed at my nanas house which was mayhem having 3 brothers and then my older brother was a typical teenager and drove my nan up the wall. But we were ok and it was nice to see everyone after 2 and a half years in africa.so we stay for a while orginally we were only going to stay for christmas which was about 1 month but we ended up staying there for 6 months. this is a website about hotels in ghana :http://www.hotels.com.gh/

zimbabwe

In Zimbabwe there are lots of problems going on like the precedent(Mugabe) in kicking out all the whites and giving there farms to the blacks that do not know how to farm.
Then there is the inflation which goes up every day. it was 7 million yesterday and now it is 10 million so zim dollars have no value and they have already taken 3 zeros of the money in 2004 and now they have made a 1000000 dollar note which only worth 10p. as i say the inflation is crazy!!!!

The wildlife in Zimbabwe is really nice you can go and visit wild animals or sort of tame ones because a wild animal can never be tamed.for example there is a game park called imira which has elephant which you can ride, a hyena which i was allowed to stroke but that was a very special occasion. this is a picture of the elephants been ridden by one of my younger brothers and my dad. we also rode them but we ode one that drinks beer so as you can see imira is a very spacial place and they also have an elephant who thinks its a buffalo.
there are other game parks which are smaller but the smallest one i have been to even has 5 giraffes. the game park is called gosho and it right next to my old school which is called Peterhose girls school and brothers is just across the road and is called peterhouse boys and the primary school is called springvale which is attacked to the girls school. theses are some pictures of our house in zim.www.africaguide.com/country/zimbab/parks.htm

hi my name is Kate.crisp

this is about my life in Africa and about the places i have been in Africa in the past 5 years.

this has information about: Ghana, Zimbabwe, south Africa and Zambia.

i was born in England and my family wanted an exciting life so we went to south Africa but only stayed there for a month.

South Africa is the best place for shopping in Africa. i has really nice beaches and is a great temperature in the summer but in winter it snows lots. you can go snorcalling and the main place for shopping is cape town they have got loads of african art and loads of first world things to which is quite rare in africa.

The currence over there is rand and there is 10 rand to a pound.

This is a 5 rand coin.

There are loads of hotels in south Africa in the summer they are basically all fully booked so get there quickly some of the hotels are if you want to stay at a game park they all have chalets or inns etc. i recommend Mkuze.
